OPENINGS

WE OFFER A WIDE RANGE of services that can help you open up your swimming pool

If you are a fortunate homeowner who has a swimming pool, spring pool openings can be one of the most exciting times of the year.

After months of snow and ice, the weather is finally warm and sunny enough for you to take the covers off the swimming pool and have some much overdue backyard fun. However, before you fill up your swimming pool with water and jump into it, there’s some prep work you need to do to ensure you are swimming in a safe and hygienic environment.

Professional service will do an inspection of your swimming pool, make sure that all systems are a go, and will sanitize your swimming pool so that your family remains safe.

At Prestige Swimming Pools, we have you covered. We offer a wide range of services that can help you open up your swimming pool, including cover removal, pool clean-up, water chlorination, and more.

Let us take a look at some of the most common swimming pool services we offer:

  • Removing the Cover

Although removing the swimming pool cover may seem like an easy task, you need to be very careful when taking it off to make sure it doesn’t rip. Since the swimming pool cover is quite big as well, it can also be cumbersome to handle. At Prestige Swimming Pools, we can remove the cover from the swimming pool for you as well as fold it and store it in the right way. We will also clean it out and dry it before storing.

  • Removing Winterizing Plugs

We will remove all the winterizing plugs and other winterizing gizmos from the swimming pool as well as replace them with directional spray nozzles or return pool fittings.

  • Replacing Pool Equipment

We will replace all important pool equipment. This includes reassembling the pump and filter system of the pool, including the o-rings and the plugs. We will also replace the skimmer and pump baskets.

  • Reinstalling Handrails and Ladders

If your swimming pool has handrails or ladders, we will unscrew and remove them so that they are not exposed to the weather. We will also safely store these fixtures in a safe and dry place.

  • Checking the Pool Condition

We will also assess the condition of the swimming pool. If there are any cracks, leakages, visible plumbing, filter or pump damage, or broken seals, we may notify you and form a repair plan that can fix the issues before you can use the swimming pool.

  • Removing Pool Debris

Before filling up your pool with water, we will also check for any debris like leaves or sticks in the swimming pool. We will clear them out so that you can fill the water in a clean pool.

Please note: Although we can perform all these tasks in your swimming pool, not all of these come in a standard package of pool opening. We may charge you extra for some of the above services.

  • Filling the Swimming Pool

We will fill your swimming pool with the required amount of water. In doing so, we will also check the water level of the swimming pool to ensure it is optimal.

  • Restarting the Filtration System

We will then connect the filtration system to clean your pool. The filter drain will be used to remove larger pieces of dirt from the water. If your swimming pool has a cartridge filter, we will use a bypass valve to do this.

  • Chlorine and Shock Treatment

During a pool opening, it is important that you add a bottle of algaecide and the appropriate levels of liquid shock (commercial grade liquid chlorine). This will eliminate all the pathogens in the swimming pool and allow you peace of mind when it comes to the hygiene of your swimming pool.

  • Chemical Stabilization

Your pool water should not just be chlorinated, but it should also have the right pH levels as well as balanced calcium hardness and cyanuric acid. If the pH in your pool is not optimal, it can give rise to algae and other water life in your swimming pool — which is something that you do not want.

  • Testing the Heating System

You may get away with swimming in cool water in the summer, but it is still a bit chilly in the spring season to do so. It is important that you get your heating system checked by us so that we can make sure it is firing right and warming up the water the right way.

Please note: Although we can perform all these tasks in your swimming pool, not all of these come in a standard package of pool opening. We may charge you extra for some of the above services.

Why You Should Hire Prestige Swimming Pools for Pool Opening

If your pool is not opened the right way, is not clean, and not doused with the proper chemicals, you can be in for a headache when your water becomes murky and algae and mold develops in the pool.

A reputable swimming pool opening company in the Hamptons and the North and South Forks of Long Island can assess the condition of the swimming pool and open it up in the right way to ensure you have a long and pleasant summer chilling out in the pool.

Now that the ice is thawing, it is time for you to open up your swimming pool.
